Can I switch from DirecTV Satellite to DirecTV Stream without breaking a contract?
We currently don't have high speed internet. (We kind of do... a mobile hotspot with unlimited data that doesnt slow down after the 50 gigs or whatever.... but still only 4G speed.) When we first moved into this house, we had Dish installed. If there was a slight cloud in the sky, it seemed like our signal was lost. (Not really, but rain knocked it out about everytime.) I had them come out and they said it was aimed as perfect as they could get it.
So, we switched from Dish to DirecTV stream. Problem with stream is I have a ton of devices on our wifi. So, if theres any kind of traffic on the network, the TV suffers. (I have enabled QoS.) Within the next few months, were supposed to be getting fiber. I'd rather have DirecTV stream with fiber. Then I never have to worry about signal loss. (As of now, the only two utilities ran to the house is electric and water. No other utilities. No phone line.)
I was hoping maybe we could sign up for directv satellite. But, once we get fiber, switch to Directv stream without breaking a 2 year contract. Is this possible?

Nope, DTV satellite and DTV streaming are separate services although owned by AT&T. You can still get DTV streaming when fiber comes to you. You only pay $20 per unused months left on the DTV contract.

We were supposed to have fiber by the end of the year.
The last house, we just got fiber. When they were installing it, you knew something was going on. You saw workers doing stuff. I have not seen one person around our house that looks remotely like they're installing fiber. Last house, we lived in a subdivision. New house, we live in the middle of nowhere on a very narrow dirt road that is too narrow in most places for 2 cars to pass. But, the person we bought the house said they were working on installing fiber. Its our electric company. I've called and confirmed we're planned. They say there's already fiber down our road. They're just working on running it to people's houses now. I signed up on their website and see on the portal that the install is scheduled, but no date.
