Being billed TWICE in ONE month 27 days a part!

I'm retired & on a budget PLUS being hit twice a month on DIRECTV is killing me!( I JUST got hit for SEVERAL HUNDREDS OF $$ for my property taxes WHICH HAD TO BE PAID ON 1/15th )  I just paid your company & 178.71 on 1/3/23 then less than a week later I GET ANOTHER BILL FOR 1/31/23 for a payment due for $125.31 on 1/31/23!  COME ON I JUST PAID YOU $178.71 and you are now billing me for another $125.31!  THAT'S $304.02 in less than 15 days! What you are going to get is a NSF if you try to pull that $125.31.  I'm almost 75 retired!  Billing a retired person a total of $304.02 in 26 day span full of you know what.  I've been a client of your company since you came out BUT I THING I WILL BE LOOKING FOR ANOTHER PROVODER!! I just ONE of MILLIONS so I will probably be told where to go!!

Directv pulls their payment directly out of my checking account.  I was told they are changing their due/billing date.. I called up there to discuss this with one of their REPS & was told the payment date has been changed & I had NO choice in the matter! I just had $178.11 taken out of my account on 1/3 & then got a bill for $125.31 a few days later telling me they will be pulling it out 1/31! When I called I was told they were adjusting their billings/payment dates & I had NO CHOICE in the matter. In short I was BILLED & will be expected pay the $125.31 on 1/31 even if I did pay them on 1/3 in the amount $178.71.(total of $304.02 for Jan.) I won't have the money because I just paid property taxes & then a few days prior & my retirement check won't come in until 2/8.

Your billing cycle started the day you where installed, on day 2 your bill is made and payed since you are on auto pay, this can't be changed.  You can try disputing the charge with your bank.  You can also file a BBB complaint to kick it to DTV corporate.

I contacted Directv and was told they had CHANGED their billing dates and there was NOTHING I COULD DO about it! I'm retired & just had to pay property taxes & a prior bill to Directv in the amount of $178.11 on Jan 3rd then Directv sends me another bill due on 1/22 for $125.31 a few days AFTER I had paid them the  $178.11 payment.  That's 2 payments in less than a month totaling of $304.02. I tried to speak to the barley English speaking rep who tried to explain that Directv had changed their billing dates & there was nothing I can do.  I told him I was retired, on a budget & if they try to PULL A @2ND PAYMENT OUT OF MY ACCOUNT it was probably going to come back NSF (due to the city  hitting me with property taxes!) I will have to wait & see but the truth is I don't have the money to pay Directv 2 payments in ONE MONTH.  I haven't had a NSF in 20 yrs but it looks like I'm going to get one in a couple days!

I was not late & have never been late.  I'm set up on AUTO PAY with ALL my payments with these companies this way they can't state that I was late making my payments.  If a payment was made late it is BECAUSE THE COMPANY PULLED IT LATE not me. But being billed TWICE in one month is ridiculous (especially when you are in your 70's, retired & a widow) Then when I talked to them, they stated that they changed their billing schedule without a thought of when you get your pension or social security. The short of it was the fact that I was  billed TWICE in 20 days for a total of $304.02 when my normal bill ranges from $160 to $180 (max). I was told it was due to the change of the billing date I was billed for $178.71 on 1/3 & will be billed for $125.31 for 1/31/23 total of $304.02 for the month of January!  I waer they get you coming & going.

My payment/bill is an AUTO pull.  ATT sends me a notice of when they are going to pull & for how much.  Which was done.  When I called about the 2nd billing coming on the heels of the one I just paid (like a week later) I was told they were changing the billing date.  I expressed my concern about this since I am retired on widow & on a budget PLUS I had to pay a property tax bill I HAD to pay on a certain day which I did (which was between the  FIRST Directv billing & the SECOND Directv bill!  I was NOT given a choice about the days of the payments pull on either them. Directv pulled their payment BUT TWICE IN MONTH MONTH LESS THAN 20 DAYS APART, COME ON!!

Your original post said 27 days apart, now you are claiming less than 20 days apart, which is it? As long as the two payments were for different dates, I don’t see the problem, it’s money you owe anyway. I understand the issue it caused you but if the cause really was a change to the billing date, that should be a one time issue but did your bill cycle dates actually change or did the autopay date change? Plus since you received advanced notice, you could have turned off autopay and paid manually.

my DIRECTV payments are pulled directly from my checking acct each month.  BUT I keep getting PAST DUE notices when the bills are showed PAID. I have tried to talk to someone about this but I have been talked down to like I was an stupid child. There is one thing I am not is stupid.  Try working for the country's largest insurance co for over 50 yrs and having to deal with Pro football & basketball players including handling their bills AND claims so I assume I can talk to someone about my TV billings not being the same or changing by $100+ one month from the next without a reason why? & getting a barley English speaking person who wants to hang up on you or cuss you out because you are asking questions that THEY CAN NOT ANSWER!!
