Sure, you can pay online with a CC by logging into you account or if you have you account number you can pay without logging in. You can also use the automated phone system or for a fee through a live CSR or mail them a check. Then there are third party bill paying services that may take 3 or 4 days to post.
DirecTV doesn't require autopay. They only require that a valid card be on file, a protection against outstanding balance if you were to cancel and try to skip out on your bill.
However, before you remove autopay make sure to check any promotional discounts that may be on the account. Some (especially during the intro offer) require autopay AND paperless billing. Just to be safe that you don't end a discount early by accident.
