Angry Senior! Billing continues even though Directv Canceled

On 1.5.25 I called and canceled my Directv.  I even received a confirmation #.  On 1.11.25 I called again and spoke with Jean (giving the whole story again).  She told me to just pay my internet service for which I did.  On 1.15.25 I spoke with Shea who assured me that he had taken care of the problem and once again gave me a confirmation number.  On 1.29.25 I called and was told that a supervisor (Eric) would call back.  No call.  On 1.30.25 again I called and spoke with Chris.  He assured me that I would be credited on my 2.4.25 bill.  Guess what?  Didn't happen!  Now they are issuing late charges.  I'm getting the runaround with each Agent or Supervisor that I speak with.  We have been with Directv for a long time.  One of the agents even told me I was under contract when a tech came and installed a unit in my RV.  I explained that I had fulfilled my contract and was never told or informed by the tech of another contract.  As a senior on a fixed income, I don't know what else I can do at this point.  Any help would be appreciated!

Did you have a combined bill? If so I would check what the service dates are on the bill for the DirecTV portion. Depending on your bill cycle, the combined bill could be for the prior one of DirecTV and you get a bill separately from DirecTV for the current cycle (the final one).

Upgrades of equipment come with a 24 month service agreement. Adding a TV counts for this. So if that unit in the RV wasn't a warranty replacement, and was within the last 24 months, that is where an Early Cancellation Fee came from. Should have been disclosed by the agent over the phone, would certainly show on the order confirmation they emailed, and is mentioned in the handheld you sign with the tech. Because of all that, be prepared that even a BBB complaint may still result in this being a correct charge.

Though DirecTV in practice has not allowed installing in RVs by their techs unless it is permanently parked as the residence itself. So normal RV installs are done by 3rd party retailers that specialize in mobile installs.
