Xfinity internet installed/DTV is down

Dear Forum,

Been with DTV for over 20 years. Have two TVs, a Genie and a mini genie. Yesterday, xfinity/comcast installed our new internet. The tech said he screwed up and used the wrong coax. So now we have blazing internet- but the dish completely out…error 782 I believe. He obviously made an error while up in the attic and disconnected the dish. The xfinity tech and his boss are coming back today to fix this. My wife and I are not DIYers and know nothing about fixing this.

Any ideas on what the heck xfinity did? Can xfinity fix this or do I just need a DTV tech? We obviously need another coax run to the dish. Thanks in advance everyone! I’ve never posted here before but I see it’s a wealth of information.

They didn't run their own coax from the pole to their modem/gateway.

Unknown if they disconnected the coax from the dish at the SWM splitter or the coax to the Genie.

Thanks for the reply. Right, not sure about where the disconnection is yet. Hopefully they can find the problem today. They xfin guy was very sorry and could not figure out how to get it back on. Our community is older so no fiber here. Xfin/Comcast was the only option but it seems like a rather disorganized company and this is our first experience with them! They were concerned I’d give them a bad review…so I said come back and get my DTV working tmrw and all is well again.🤷‍♂️
