Apparently, not in Seattle, where I live. Ummmm, stop "protecting me from fee increases" by blacking out channels for your customers. OR they will cease to become so.

We never want you to lose a local station for any amount of time, especially right before the biggest game of the year. Luckily, you can still catch the Chiefs take on the 49ers on Nickelodeon, TelevisaUnivision or streaming live on Paramount+. DIRECTV appreciates your patience. Jhoan,DIRECTV Community Specialist

@kchittick

If you can't receive KIRO7 with an off-air antenna you can get a one-month subscription to Paramount+ and stream the Super Bowl.

While I appreciate the helpful alternatives, I simply want what I pay for, not an alternative. I pay a nice amount for my local channels/premium service and extra for 4k, you know, for days like today - so I can watch the big game. I don't "cut the cord" because I like the comfort of a comprehensive service - even if I pay more. I'm sure you can't just be held hostage by suppliers either, but customers seem to be the losers during the negotiations and they seem to be happening more and more frequently.

Honestly, things have been sliding service-wise ever since AT&T took over. Patience? After a mostly pleasing 25 year journey, I don't want to have patience, when I'm paying for comfort.

Anyway, you both have a nice day and good luck with damage control. I'm sure your team is trying their best to resolve the situation.

"Hostage" is exactly the right word to describe these all-too-frequent carriage disputes while greedy corporations (in this case, Cox Media) hold TV providers like DirecTV, Dish, etc. hostage to pay more and more for FREE over-the-air channels. Sadly, changing providers won't help because they're all subject to this craziness.

Anyway, hope you find a way to watch today's Super Bowl broadcast. I, too, live in Seattle and can fortunately receive KIRO7 with an off-air antenna.

We appreciate the 25 years of loyalty and apologize for the inconvenience about your local channel. We are committed to working towards a new deal that aligns the value and quality you receive with the price you pay. More info on where to watch the same programming for free over-the-air, through local station websites, and via streaming apps is available at TVPromise.com. Ara, DIRECTV Community Specialist

It was your local channel that removed their feed when they could have left it on.

Well I think we have the direct tv cable with the fiber optic cable so I guess the answer is the internet so if the ATT internet isn’t working TV won’t work

we also tried screen mirror from our phones that’s not working either
