Upcoming shows and series

hi all, I'm wondering why there isn't a way to set a DVR recording for new (upcoming) content before the first episode airs. I've run into this problem multiple times with this service. For example I keep seeing commercials for upcoming programs that say "Set your DVR for Jan 1!" and yet when I search for it in the guide, that program is not even listed. Other platforms list upcoming programming in the guide ahead of time for just this reason. But not Direct TV and I can't understand why.
