switch from DirecTV to YouTube TV

Do I delete AT&T U-verse as my “TV provider” on my iPhone 13 before…or after I subscribe to YouTube TV? I will retain my recently-acquired fiber optic internet service & landline phone. I will run the YouTube TV trial with DirecTV until I drop DirecTV afterwards. First time cutting the cord & want to proceed in the best way procedurally. Please advise the next steps to take…and in what order. Thanks in advance to all who share their advice on this matter!

@ron4735 You have me confused do you have AT&T U-Verse or Directv?  As you mention both services.  If you are a U-Verse customer I would recommend not canceling until you know you like your new service as you cannot switch back to U-Verse if you cancel.  If you are planning to switch from Directv that would not be as much of an issue. Other than that I would change my provider before you cancel your old service so that way you have no problems switching over to your new provider.

DTV has nothing to do with your ISP Fiber Optic service.

To clarify, my iPhone 13 lists AT&T U-verse as “my TV provider”. I receive programming via DirecTV. This is why I listed both. Can’t tell you anymore than this. After completing the YouTube TV trial, do I delete or replace on my phone the tv provider indication..or do nothing at all except call DirecTV to stop service? I KNOW fiber optic internet service is unrelated to my changeover…just included this FYI. So…do I subscribe to YouTube TV first then just call DirecTV to stop it & ignore the TV Provider indication on my iPhone? Not trying to confuse. Thanks for everyone’s comments thus far!

Looks like your iPhone's TV Provider setting is wrong if you're actually a DirecTV subscriber.

I’m more clear now thanks to your spot on comments. I will change my “TV provider” indication on phone to “Direct TV” asap. Will not prorate to complete saved viewing. Will contact DTV tomorrow to verify last date of service. Will check my billing to cross- reference end-date regardless. I confirmed that UPS has an agreement with AT&T/DTV to ship back their comm devices….free of charge to the consumer. That’s 1 less thing to deal with. I cannot express how much I appreciate ALL your advice & instruction! Feel free to add any other info you may think of in the future. Thanks so much! God bless everyone & stay safe.
