The Sports Pack is primarily for college sports and some regional events and a couple specialty channels, most of which are in the 600s. Some use it to get their in-market RSNs if they are in Entertainment or a lower package as is cheaper than raising to Choice.
As for channels not included like the Sportsmix, well that is based on whatever agreement DirecTV got with the different leagues it affects. And if that ever shows out of market games it would have to be blocked from the Sports Pack as it must follow blackout rules. Out-of-market is only with the appropriate seasonal subscription (NBA League Pass, MLB Extra Innings, etc.).

Name one channel that shows on the Sportsmix channel that is not in the Sports Pack. I had the choice package before and it never showed anything that would fall in a category that has to be blacked out. It was always regional network channels. NFL Network. ESPN, ACC Network or SEC Network. Seems absurd not to have a Sports Mix channel when you pay for a Sport Pack. I mean SPORTS is in the name. SMH
