some recorded programs do cannot be fast-forwarded; I am forced to sit through all the commercials. WHY!!

Some recorded (but not all) programs cannot be fast-forwarded; I do NOT like having to sit through all the stupid commercials.  This is a relatively recent problem.  What is going on?

You are recording the On Demand versions as they are the only ones you can't FF through.

Yes, OUTRAGEOUS!  Are consumers expected to forget that the  WHOLE POINT AND FUNCTION of  CUSTOMER-Paid  TV service was for that service to provide subscribers with UNINTERRUPTED viewing-- WITHOUT the infusion of constant, insufferably-numerous and frequent commercial ads???

Now DTV, et al., have changed horses mid-stream-- whereby they are double-dipping, charging the advertisers AND their customers, reaping profits from both.

SERIOUSLY?  Does this slick & sleazy practice NOT constitute a Breach-Of-Contract?

This brand of Cr*p has all the makings of a (Edited per community guidelines) (Edited per community guidelines).  Let's call it,

"Scammed, (Edited per community guidelines) Consumers v.  Corrupt TV Service Providers Who Go Unregulated,  Without A Thought To Making Reparation."   In the interim, sub-

scribers should demand credits/reductions for the amounts due on monthly bills.      P.S.-- A NOTE TO DTV AND ADVERTISERS:  I turn my back, eyes and ears from any/all  ads that interrupt my program viewing-- hence, I know nothing, and CARE nothing,  about the products//services advertised.  Pity, that advertisers    are paying through the lungs for TV ads-- Ads  that run to blind eyes and deaf ears-ALWAYS IGNORED!!!

How do you know when those ads are over if you're ignoring them?

Get your facts straight.  DTV pays the channels to carry them and don't get any money from advertisers because it is the channels that sell their ad space.

DTV rebroadcasts the programs that the channels send them not sure how they can insert ads into it.

Content providers provide a stream of content that may contain commercial breaks.  Most providers will fill all of those breaks with ads, some they sold, some are for their stuff, sometimes they leave holes.  DIRECTV's agreements with some content providers allow them to insert commercials in certain breaks in certain slots, either filling an empty slot or overlaying a slot that had a commercial that DIRECTV has the right to overlay.

They won't just decide to insert a commercial in content that doesn't already come with commercial breaks from the content provider, though, so if you're seeing a commercial, the content provider decided there would be a commercial there, but not necessarily what commercial.

DTV can use locally inserted ads that are downloaded to the DVR and triggered to play during those commercial breaks, they can't change the channels stream.

It is NOT just on demand. Even though I am paying $200 per month I am all of a sudden being forced to watch commercials. . You cannot even pause them anymore.  If this is the way forward, there is no point in paying anymore.
