Nexstar Dispute
End this dispute with Nexstar NOW! If this dispute is not settled today, I will be dropping Directv and signing up with another provider immediately. You have had enough time to get this settled, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

Signing up with another provider won't help. Search for the current channel issues facing Dish, Spectrum and other TV providers. Those station owners can too easily hold providers and their subscribers hostage, demanding more and more $$$ for TV stations that are FREE over-the-air. It's crazy.

You expect DirecTV to resolve the Nexstar situation right now, this day, because you say so? That's not going to happen as you have no such power.
If you cannot live without Nexstar owned stations then plug in a regular antenna to get the free broadcast. Might even pick up other sub-channels to enjoy. Otherwise certainly switch if you must, just be aware that doesn't protect you. All TV providers go through these annoying negotiations. Local affiliate owners like Nexstar keep raising prices for what is free over-the-air. I didn't go to pay TV for my free locals so I say Nexstar can take their rate hike and take a hike.

Some of us live in areas where we can't use an atenna because of mountains. Rich CEO's could shell out some money and get these stations back for us. This is the second time in the last couple of years that I have been with out NBC for several months.

Also, YouTube TV is cheaper than DirectTV.. we will see how long it takes Nexstar and DirectTV to settle, but I’m not waiting on them

Who cares? I would assume you will when you go through a situation like this all over again. But "who cares - in the meantime..." is too similar to a Veruca Salt mindset of wanting now and oblivious to thinking ahead.
Certainly go with what works best for you. Just don't be blind that this can (and in most cases has) happen to any TV provider. If local affiliate owners charged for their channels directly, I wonder how comfortable most would be paying those rates for just a couple channels.

@KateLav
Because I don't blindly think you absolutely have to stay with DirecTV. If they don't work for you then certainly go where it works better. I do not work for them as am a customer like yourself. I have seen too many people make poor decisions because they don't get all the facts or look at a situation with rose-colored glasses instead of a realistic perspective, so I share info where I can hoping it will allow someone to make the most informed decision they can. Just like you I am free to discuss in this public forum.
