NEWSMIX
The NewsMix channel doesn't seem to be on the streaming option provided with my account. Why? Am I missing something? Is there any other streaming option for it?
Thanks

You have DIRECTV STREAM, correct? If so, unfortunately NewsMix is only available through the DIRECTV satellite

You say the streaming option provided with your account. So you have satellite, but using the secondary perks of streaming?
(otherwise if you have DIRECTV STREAM then streaming isn't an option but mandatory as that is how the service works).

Hello @newsjunkie1999, NEWSMIX is available on DIRECTV via Satellite. Currently, we don't have this option for DIRECTV STREAM, but we'll forward it to our team, so they can review and determine next steps. Thank you for being part of DIRECTV. Erika, DIRECTV Community Specialist

To be clear, I have Directv satellite service, but thanks for the information everyone, I figured as much but it doesn't hurt to ask around.
It does kind of (Edited per community guidelines) that the Streaming offerings don't have some of the good content that we pay so much for, I wouldn't call any of them perks, more like value added, and for as much as Directv costs, I think the least they could do is provide the same content across all platforms.
Oh well, thanks again everyone.

I just relocated for work, & because I'm renting, I had to go with the Stream service, vs satellite, and instantly missed that News Mix Channel.. it appears the 2year old comments, and they havn't added it, I really doubt they will at this point!.. Like newJunkie says, " I think the least they could do is provide the same content across all platforms. " .. absolutly annoying!

Unfortunately licensing is not the same between satellite and streaming services, especially for any older channels that their permissions were written in before streaming existed (DirecTV launched near the birth of the World Wide Web, well before streaming was anything but a SciFi concept).
Hopefully over time existing network owners (channels name and ownership have changed over the years) will eventually update agreements to account for both, but that may still be a long way off. At least any new networks or agreement options going forward should take multiple platforms into account.
If your relocation is not short term, than satellite is still an option as landlord cannot say no per Federal regulations (OTARD). Just has to be in an area that you control vs a shared space with other tenants. For this sled mounts, pole mounts, or even bracketing to a patio are some allowable installs. But keep in mind, DirecTV only permits one free move within a 12 month period (active service, account in good standing, etc.) so if yours is shorter than that I wouldn't do it unless you were willing to pay the $199 Movers Fee when time.

Good Explanation! I use to worked for a retailer who sold DirecTv back in 2010-2012 and so I had a grandfathered account locked in since 2016 with a price & package that is no longer offered, so moving kinda of put me in a pickle with my service, yes I could have gone back to Satellite service & your right they can't prevent it, however they would not have transfered my plan! as far as price it's slowly been creeping up over $130, with rate increases & loyality discounts, so by joining the Streaming service I was able to get a lower rate for 2yrs, and with being a rental, i have no idea what the future holds, if I'm moving or staying!
The only reason I kept DirceTV in the first place is because my elderly parents moved with me & the are addicted to the news! Why i started searching NewsMix, was for them, but when I found this forum I felt the move voices heard, maybe someone would care!

What do you mean they wouldn't transfer your plan? Plans aren't location specific as DirecTV is nationwide. Plan is for the account. Unless you were going from an MDU where it was through your rent instead of your direct individual account.
Now if your account included an ongoing promotional discount (such as making HD free), then an upgrade of equipment (if wasn't simply move only existing setup) could have knocked that off.
I get it on the price increases. Networks charge TV providers more each year, which in turn have to raise bills to keep up. Vicious cycle that even streaming is slowly catching up to.
Certainly share your voice in the forum. Supposedly sometimes the official forum team passes them along as feedback. Just not a guarantee of any changes (certainly not in the near future anyway). This medium is intended as customer to customer, so us helping each other out but with no official influence on how DirecTV operates (let alone the industry as a whole). There are basic functions of satellite, such as full parental controls (i.e. lock out PPVs), that I would like to see implemented into the streaming services.
Hopefully some of these things will change in the customer's favor. But until then, we make do.
