New subscriber with Auto-pay to DirecTV but AT&T has not hooked up internet

We signed up for AT&T and DirecTV on August 19, 2024.  Due to the ongoing AT&T strike, our service has not been installed.  However, we have begun to get charged for DirecTV through auto-pay.  So, we are paying for service that we do not have.  We have called DirecTV about this and have had no resolution in this problem. This needs to be resolved so that we are not being charged for a service we do not yet have.

Thank you.

Did you subscribe to DTV satellite or DTV via internet AKA DTV streaming?

Thanks for your responses.  We are supposed to be getting DTV via internet.  We can access DTV on the computer, but not on the tv.  (We have an old non-smart tv)

We tried to load the app on the tv but it comes up with a code error --all in Spanish!

As we are switching--whenever that occurs--to AT&T, we have been told we have to wait until the guy ever gets here.

You need to contact DTV via internet to see if you can suspend service until AT&T can install the internet or pay the bill.  DTV via internet is a subscription service so long as the account is open you are billed regardless if you use it or not.

Thanks, Shannon.  I just looked at the form to suspend service and the minimum is for 30 days.  That puts us in a bind as we have no idea when AT&T will end its strike and get back to work.  If it is sooner than the 30 days, we will not be able to unlock the DTV suspension.    I do appreciate your advice on this and it looks we're out of options.  We've already been round and round with the chat line and 2 live agents.  It just isn't right for us to have to pay for a service we aren't getting!!

Technically you are getting it but you can't use it.  You may have to get a streaming device for the TV.
