New Directv App on streaming devices not working as promised

Also having problems with having access to dvr recorded content on Directv apps . I'm a satellite customer and have been told multiple times I could access my recorded content on Direvtv App that I've put on my various devices without using wireless mini genie. But most of my news recordings are not playing unless they are Demand content. Also I just put Directv App on my IPad and there isn't any sound! Now I am reading we should reset our receiver! Are you talking about the main genie receiver that also has all my recorded content?

How do I do this? Also will I lose all my previously recorded content?

DTVhelp has said there is an update coming that may fix that.  Press the red button near the access card on the Genie that removes power to the CPU causing it to reboot, nothing is lost.

Thanks! I'm finally able to view my DVR recorded content on my Directv Apps. I hadnt checked in a couple weeks..Almost all my content is now viewable. I had done a review a couple weeks back and it's possible that's what got the attention of support or an automatic App update fixed the problem Ive been having. Like others I was only able to view recorded content that was available through demand...most of my recordings were labeled as "viewable on receiver DVR only".

BUT now only a small number of recordings are. As a long time satellite  customer I had spent countless hours for a good year trying to watch my Directv through apps in conjunction with my Genie  and wireless minis on other tvs ... I was instructed last year by foreign support that I should  able to watch DVR recordings through the App. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Apps , there was confusion between the Satellite and Steeaming only Apps that looked identical! I tried rebooting genie and nothing seemed to work. But I now realize they were wrong. It wasn't available yet in my region. The combination of satellite and streaming into one Directv App was long in coming and I almost canceled my service in frustration.  They may have introduced it  too quickly...before working out all its bugs...but it now seems to be working pretty good. I am able to view my DVR content using Roku streamers and FireTv streamer and  hopefully I will also be able to view and HEAR my directv content on my Ipad soon. Hope they have a fix!

When DTV combined the sat app and the streaming app nobody could watch their DVR recording on the new app.  Not all channels are allowing streaming recording to the app.
