I moved to zip code 92653 from Massachusetts and was watching both the Bruins and Red Sox on Direct TV until about a week ago.  Says the service provided is not letting it be broadcast any more.  What does that mean and when is it coming back? It is the (Edited per community guidelines) playoff season.

With MLB it depends.

In-Market: Watch on your Regional Sports Network (RSN). If a local channel has the rights to a particular game then you watch it there instead.

Out-of-market: MLB Extra Innings.

Fox and ESPN have special rights to some weekend games.

Apple purchased rights to some games in a 7 year deal.

Directv tried a box refresh and that didnt work.

They had to remove the sports package and re-add it to make NESN and the other regionals work.

Keep in mind that the Sports Pack does not override blackout rules. So it does not get you out-of-market games. It is a way to get your in-market RSN(s) if you are in a lower package instead of raising to Choice (which adds on an RSN fee as well).

Baseball just started.  Many of the Spring training games were free up until last week so that could be part of it.
