MLB Recordings are auto deleted as soon as the live broadcast is over.

This is my second inquiry to this problem.  I am a subscriber to the MLB Extra Innings package.  I record my favorite team so that I can watch it later.  Just recently, every recording deletes as soon as the time block for that game is over.  I can watch it live.  I can also watch it while it is recording if I tune in late.  But as soon as the time block is over, the recording deletes itself, and my game stops wherever I am in the recording at the time the live feed ends.  This has never happened before until now.  I have been recording MLB Extra Innings games for years.  I am familiar with the MLB blackout restrictions.  I have done my research.  Since all these games that I record are Out-of-Market games, these games have no blackout restrictions in my area.

But when I go the the Recording Manager/Recording History is says "GameSearch was performed for the.....@ Rangers (Rangers Broadcast) on channel 739 as this program was not authorized due to blackout restrictions in your area.  This episode was partially recorded because the channel became unavailable. (6)

This message is full of errors.  First, there are no blackout restrictions in my area.  Secondly, the episode was fully recorded, not partially.  Thirdly,  channel did not become unavailable.  It was available for the whole game.  I was watching it.  But when the live broadcast block was over, the program deleted itself.  This is not a MLB problem.  It is a Directv issue as I have carefully read the MLB blackout restrictions.  No where does it say that recordings are deleted after the broadcast is over.  If I can watch the game live, then obviously the game is not blacked out.

When I inquired the first time, Directv wanted to make sure there wasn't any weather issues and that I have plenty of recording space.  No weather issues, I have plenty of space in my hard drive to record and prioritize games.  Then they said I need to review the MLB privacy policy....ha ha ha.  The privacy policy has nothing to do with this issue.   If I can't record the game, and watch it when I want, then there is no need to pay Directv for this service.  I am very frustrated that this is happening, and so far there has been only weak responses from Directv.  I have been with them for decades and I prefer their service over streaming for many reasons.  But....if every time I come home to watch my favorite team and the recording is deleted, why bother with Directv?  I can watch it on my ipad I guess.  Bummer.

get a tv that can stream directv and then get rid of the hard drive. get a package with unlimited cloud recordings and then suddenly stoopid glitches like that will be a thing of the past.

We conducted an investigation and we currently don't have any widespread issue with the problem reported. We're sorry that you missed and unable to record those games. Visit this link MLB EXTRA INNINGS and More on DIRECTV | DIRECTV Support to learn more about how to watch your favorite team live or on demand, while on the go, at home or in the office.

I am having same issue with Ranger games.  I start watching and then it drops the playback and deletes the recording.  Been doing this for years and never done this.

Everybody who subscribes to MLB Extra Innings: If you are having the same issues as many of us are having, when we tape a game and it is automatically deleted before we even get a chance to watch it, please let DirecTV know this is a HUGE issue, not just happening to a handful of people. Maybe DirecTV will take notice and fix this glaring error. And to DirecTV, please take a look at how many people this is affecting. https://forums.directv.com/conversations/watching-directv/mlb-recordings-are-auto-deleted-as-soon-as-the-live-broadcast-is-over/6656ac070bb07947c8b53dfe

This is absolutely a problem that just started happening recently.  I live in Mississippi (Atlanta Braves MLB territory).  I watch St. Louis Cardinal games on MLB package.  I am not in an area that carries a RSN that covers the Cardinals.  The only time I am blacked out is when they are either on National TV or play Atlanta.  This same problem has happened to me the last two days.  Yesterday I was watching the bottom of the 1st inning and bam, Directv goes to a regular program and when I go back to the list, the game is not there.  Replaced by a new recording that is 2 minutes long on the same channel.  Today I recorded and added no extra time, thinking that might have been the problem.  The time block was from 12:30 PM to 4:30 PM Central.  Exactly at 4:30 it shut off the recording, deleted, and started again.  I do not have the ability to stream due to internet capability.  This is very problematic.

Same issue continuing on a daily basis. Watching games on 600 channels is fine when they are not blacked out, but most of my team's games are not listed on the 600 channels, or they're unavailable. DirecTV, please fix this issue

Several calls to Directv led to this.  It’s MLB, check your recording option, previous recordings.  You will see the deleted and it says “due to MLB blackout rules”.  It then quit for a week and now deleted this weekend.  Thinking it is “Rockies” changing rules.   This is just not right.  I told Directv to get MLB to fix.  They say it’s mlb.  I don’t care, I pay Directv not M,B.  GET THIS FIXED OR REFUND MY ENTIRE SEASON!
