Lost TV sound only for DirecTV.

I have a DirecTV receiver connected to my LG smart TV via HDMI cable.  I also have an X-Box connected to my tv via HDMI cable.  I’ve been using both for years with out any problems.  All of a sudden the sound went out on my DirecTV.   I thought it was my TV, but the sound for my X-Box works just fine.  Also, the sound for Netflix through my smart TV works fine.  Only DirecTV is the sound out, but the picture is fine.  I tried swapping HDMI cables, swapped receiver box from another room, and tried a different HDMI input on my TV and nothing has been able to restore the sound.  I even rebooted the TV, restored to factory settings, and rebooted my DirecTV receiver.  I’m out of things to try.  Why would only the sound, only on DirecTV, only on one TV go out all of a sudden?

Sounds like you need to replace the DTV receiver.

The problem seems to stay with the TV.  I’ve swapped receivers with a different working TV.  Both receivers work just fine on the working TV, but neither are able to produce sound on the suspect TV.  It makes it sound like a TV problem, but the TV produces sound from anything else that is connected to it.

Have you tried plugging the Xbox into the HDMI port the DTV receiver is using and the DTV receiver into the Xbox HDMI port?

Yes.  Tried swapping HDMI ports and X-Box works on both ports and there is no sound on DirecTV on either port.  It’s very strange.

I get sound cutouts, and it stayed with my Gemini.... a Genie Mini connected to the same server has no such issues.

It seems the Gemini gets "lost" every so often, and I normally have to kickstart it by changing to another channel, and where the audio encoding is different....

Happens to me daily... on both 2016 Samsung 8 series, 2023 LG OLED, and pretty new Denon receiver.

Typical.... just hoping for more updates to fix this.
