King KOP4800 portable satellite dish and h24-200 receiver

The receiver works well on house system but when I connect it to my king for camping it programs correctly and everything but all I am getting are the shopping channels and so on it shows 771 on my regular program channels I love to watch WHY?

Did you rerun sat setup and select multiswitch first then the dish type?

Could be DTV has shutdown those MPEG2 channels in your area.

Sadly, that dish is obsolete and can no longer most DirecTV channels. You'll need a Winegard Trav'ler or DirecTV Slimline dish.

Have you tried re-running satellite setup on the H24 by going to Menu, Settings & Help, Settings, Satellite, Repeat Satellite Setup, and pressing the (-) DASH button? IN satellite setup, choose 18 inch as “DISH TYPE” and Multi-switch as “Switch Type.” From there, go to Signal Strength and ensure that the Satellite 101 has readings of at least 85 on most transponders. From there, exit out of Signal Strength and press “Continue.” Let the setup do it’s thing and see if this resolves your issue.

If you never reran satellite setup after unplugging your H24 from your house system, it may still believe that the dish attached is a SWiM satellite system, thus the reason for error 771 and only a few channels coming in.

@detuch254 when a receiver is on a SWM system then moved to a standard LNB you have to select multiswitch first before the dish type as it will not change if the dish is selected first.

@shannon02

Thanks for the catch, completely forgot about that step.

The usual error code would be 775 SWM not detected.
