HBO Max Login with Direct TV

I have HBO on my direct tv account but now when i login to the app it says that its not part of my package. I think this has to do with the AT&T merger and decoupling. I have an AT&T account for cell phones then I have a direct tv account (separate account numbers) because I had direct tv before the merger. All of a Sudden just before the new year something happened and when i login it says its not on my account. I have contact HBO Max, AT&T and Direct tv all on twitter looking for help to get this revolved. AT&T and Direct tv are both blaming each other. My brother also spend all day with support trying to resolve this with no luck. Does anybody have any ideas?

As this is a public forum full of customers, we have no access to accounts and thus can’t resolve the issue directly for you. However, I think a solution may be better met by calling in rather than chatting/reaching out over social media.

Additionally, when logging into HBO Max, be sure you are logging in with TV PROVIDER rather than a direct login. When choosing TV PROVIDER, choose DIRECTV SATELLITE and NOT DIRECTV STREAM.

They don't have a clue. I have this same issue, and have called in three times to Directv (as detuch254 suggested), and they have no idea.

Same here.  Even on the DIRECTV Website when I log into my account, it says that HBO is included with my base package-which is choice-and says I get all the HBO channels and on demand.   The only thing that works is the HBO Max app.   I’ve called several times to no avail.   I couldn’t even order HBO if I wanted to pay for it (even though it comes with my cell package) because the account website thinks I have it.

@JAL123 Your issue is not the same. You seem to be saying the HBO Max app works fine but you aren’t getting the HBO satellite channels. The OP is saying the app is not working, just the opposite. Is HBO listed on your Directv bill? I get it through my cell plan too, my Directv bill has it listed like this:

HBO Max 0.00
with AT&T Unlimited &More Premium or WatchTV

It’s not on the DIRECTV bill.  But with my account on line at DIRECTV it says HBO Included in Base Package.   On my cell account, it shows as available because I’m on Unlimited Elite.

@JAL123 I have no idea why it would be on your Directv account but not on your bill but not being on your bill is why you are not getting the satellite channels. Are your Directv and cellular accounts under the same name and billing address? For me it happened automatically once I got a cellular plan that included HBO because my accounts are under the same name and billing address.

Yes, they are under the same name, email address, etc.  No one at Directv Stream can figure it out.  Very annoying.

I was having the same issue, but to resolve it I had to log in with the @att.net log-in and password and it loaded with the same accounts/profiles as before with the DirecTV information. I hope this helps.
