FSTV and "771 - Satellite Signal Issue"

I've tried to get an answer a few times over the past 5+ years, with no luck, and I guess it's time to try again. How is it that one station that I should be receiving, FSTV, nearly always gives a 771 error? On average that channel comes in for about 3 weeks out of the year, but I set it to record and it's been more than a year now since a complete recording showed up. Most of the time when it does record something, there's very little video or audio that can be made out clearly. Why just one channel when so many others come through without a 771?

What model boxes?

Free Speech TV (338)?

Happens on each TV or certain ones?

What troubleshooting have you tried already?

Have you had a tech visit or replaced any boxes since then?

Did anything happen before the issue started?

Check your satellite signal readings in the Setup Menu. It's likely that you're having reception issues.

This has happened with different boxes, models, and locations over 100 miles apart. The only thing in common is that it's my account and they've all been in Wisconsin.

What dishes do you have?

Are you boxes legacy models starting D or R (MPEG-2/SD-only) or older?

Are these boxes same account (so moving between places) or different accounts where they stay put?

The signal test numbers range from 80 to 94.

There were two separate boxes with this problem at one location that's 140 miles from here. And, on the same account, there was the same problem, at the same time,  at this location with a different box, antenna, TV, etc. I no longer have anything at the other location. Those boxes were returned and I haven't live there in five years. The first time I tried to get support to figure it out, they couldn't seem to get past the obstructed antenna theory. Other attempts went nowhere.

Since the other place is from 5 years ago, best to just to discuss what you currently have.

Model of boxes and which dish you have will be informative.

Others usually will chime in if specific signal readings need to be verified.

Since this isn't mass reported, likely it is not an issue from the originating station or the DirecTV transmission of it but on the receiving end (your setup and equipment). Though happened at two separate places, possible a similar cause. With as much info as we can it is hoped to get it solved or narrow it down enough on where the issue is being caused from and go from there.
