e9k 03.1 needs authorization key

I see that you eventually fixed this problem. My question is, how do I get to see the program (i.e., The Daily Show) that I missed because of DirecTV's screwup? If I go to the DirecTV website and try to watch the show there, the same error message appears at the same point in the show. What is DirecTV going to do to make good on this?

I tried this. I found the show on DirecTV on Demand and started it up. At the exact same spot in the show, the screen went dark and displayed the exact same message, "Channel 105 'E9k-03.1' needs authorization key."

Did you actually try it before you told me to do this?

Is it happening to recorded or live show? If it's live, reset your equipment. Let us know if it works.

It's a recorded show. It was broadcast on the Comedy Central channel (channel 249) at 11 pm Eastern time last night, Monday, 28 April.

I didn't get to see it until this afternoon--that's what DVRs are supposed to be for.

It was probably rerun at some time in the early morning hours after I'd gone to bed, but was not shown again after the time I discovered that my recording had been interrupted by the "e9k 03.1 needs authorization key" message.

We're sorry for the trouble. Missed recordings due to signal or broadcast issues at the time of the recording cannot be recovered. Rhyan, DIRECTV Community Team

So that's it? The customer pays DirecTV for service, DirecTV fails to deliver, and all the customer gets is "we're sorry"?

I believe a customer isn't supposed to be paying for undelivered goods and services. Where's the rebate on my bill?

@DIRECTVhelp Rhyan Signal loss or broadcast problems doesn't explain why the On Demand version also stops at the same point nor sends an "authorization key is needed" message.

I am in total agreement with Shannon!  Why would a On Demand program give the exact error message in the exact same moment that our recorded program did?  Something wrong with this scenario.

Me too!  I had recorded the Daily Show and received the same error message.  The DVR IS why I record and watch at a more convenient time!  Almost $200/month with failing equipment, no support outside of the forum.  Getting to the point of no return.
