DVR Service
Did anyone change to DirectV from Xfinity because of the horrible DVR service? I'm wanting to change to DirecTV because of the awful DVR service on Xfinity, including things like only a 30 minute pause/rewind and clicking button on the remote and having to wait for a reaction.
I'm wanting to be convinced that Directv is much better. I have had Directv in the past and as I remember the DVR service was fine. But Xfinity DVR service years ago was fine also.
Are you fully satisfied with the DVR service (not streaming) that you have with Directv?

The HS17 is a "server", it contains the large hard drive and feeds video to wired or wireless "mini Client" boxes that actually connect to your TVs. It's a great system and works very well. DirecTV Satellite service has no "cloud" storage. DirecTV Stream service does use cloud storage and can be accessed from a much wider variety of devices and Apps.

New customers get the HS17 Genie2 mini client system that is capped at 7 tuners with a 2TB hard drive, does not connect to any TV so all TVS get a mini client but can stream to 2 4K TVs at a time. AT&T sold off 30% of DTV and the new partner has changed the TOS to now you get a 2 year price guaranty instead of a discount for a year and the NFL Sunday Ticket is no longer available.

Thanks - appreciate the response. I know I need to research this but what do you mean 'does not connect to any tv'? Did you mean a hard drive?
Also, by providing a TB drive, does that mean you have hard drive storage and not cloud?
And I'm looking for any comments on speed, performance, etc.

Thanks - I did do some reading about it and I like the set-up. Roommate and I don't care to share 'lists' and would really prefer separate DVR recording lists and favorites.
Do you know if that's possible or if you would need separate DVRs? It sounds like that's not needed or possible with this set up.

Not with a Genie setup and DTV no longer has any HR24s left. It maybe possible to lease them from a third party dealer at the full up front lease price. You can replace a mini with an HR24.
