DVR recording shows I didn’t schedule
Our DVR seems to randomly be recording shows even though we did not schedule them. Every day I can go to it and see at least one show recorded that I didn’t ask for. How do I stop this?
TIA

Any series setup using the search function records that program on all channels, reruns and On Demand regardless of how you setup the DVR. To record only the programs on a channel you use the guide to find it and press the record button twice. DTV does send some programs to the hard drive for instant viewing with a green check mark next to it.

I am not even using the search function though…nor setting up a series recording. Yesterday it recorded a rerun of Seinfeld, which I have not watched in years. Before that a show from TLC that I have never heard of. Totally random and on its own! 1 to 3 shows a day it seems like.

Has there been any movement on this? ATT/DIRECTV need to acknowledge this as an issue. These are random, unwanted recordings - we get about 5 a week. Shows we don't watch, would never want... today for us it was a movie on pay-per view. We did NOT request it. I have also tried changing my password. This is an invasion of privacy and needs to be addressed.

I too have been having issues where random things are being recorded such as anime cartoons from adult swin on demand, a late night talk show, some other random show I have no idea what it was, etc. At first I was thinking others in the home was maybe accidently recording these random programs but today I looked and found that others have in fact experienced these same unwanted recordings. I am removing multiple program recordings at least once a week on the average. What says you to this, Directv? How do we stop this madness??

Are you in an apt/condo where DTV is provided?

@ shannon02: no, not in an apt/condo, DTV is not provided, I am the sole subscriber for my services. I'm tempted to say that this issue started when I got a gemini box added to my services, but i cannot assuredly blame the gemini box, because I do not know. But I do not recall this ever happening prior to addition of the gemini box, all incidences have been since adding it on.

Last night some random anime cartoon called Helck recorded from Adult Swim on demand. Just over an hour ago tonite, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills was mysteriously & randomly recorded from Bravo's on demand channel (Edited per community guidelines)🤨?? I really wish that recordings show exactly where they are recorded from like deleted recordings do. Anyhoo, still waiting on a DTV to chime in here🙄
