DTV on-demand streaming fails on HD DVR on fiber service 1G?

Are there any settings on my router that need to be set to get back the streaming on the HD DRV (yes it is old

but it worked until I changed to fiber from FiberFirst (aka Hyper Fusion aka Millenium Telecom)?

Did you rerun network setup and delete/restore the network on the DVR?

I did rerun & reset everything DVR and router and tried different ether cables. The other HR24 on the same network works fine with on-demand.

I have HR24 connected via ethernet to the router.

The Internet setting reports all OK.

Except on-demand & watch from the beginning, other internet features do work.

When I try on-demand/watch from   it starts and after about 875% of the green bar it fails with the message suggesting to try latter.

This could be a problem with the Gateway and having two DTV receivers on the same network,  you can try getting a DECA BB online then connecting it to the gateway then running Ethernet/coax to the SWM splitter then removing any Ethernet cable connected to the HR24s then rebooting both.  You only need 1.

Thank you all.

I have two HR24. No Genie.

Whole Home - works.

Each box is on ethernet hardwire connected to LAN.

The On-Demand & Watch from the beginning stopped working 2 weeks ago on one of them without provocation.

Today forced firmware update on each by pressing red reset button and entering 0-2-4-6-8.

Problem continues.

Suddenly the after some disruptions with fiber internet the ON-Demand & watch from the beginning fails. Otherwise the receivers repot that internet connection is OK, the LAN browsing works - I can stream from my computers and The Whole House between receivers works too.

what possibly could go wrong? I suspect that ISP restored the fiber connection but in the process of resetting headend something was not reset properly. Repeated calls to ISP result in nothing as they are "virtual" and have no technical tools to do anything. It is NOKIA that sets things for them. But the fiber in the street belongs to Ubiquity and the "virtual" ISP just rides on it.

Any ideas how to talk to them? I can't walk away - (Edited per community guidelines) there is no options here.

You can try resetting the network defaults and reconnect to the internet.  DTV has nothing to do with your ISP.

Hi Shannon02, I would not bother anybody had I not do the resets, changed routers, etc. Didn't I just write that DTV reports connection to internet.

DTV has everything to do with ISP. How does OnDemand request travel to DTV, and how does it find the way back. Since OnDemand request failed at about 50% of the green strip on screen, it may suggest that: (a) DTV (Edited per community guidelines) (which it independently does); (b) the streaming request does not get out or times out because ISP routes it three times around the world.

what am I missing, Shannon02?

DTV has nothing to do with On Demand, all they do is send you to the channels On Demand server that sends you the program.  DTV sat service doesn't need an internet connection to work.

@Shannon2 & Juniper. I am way to old to do not know what you stated. The problem is way beyond your questions.

I guess you all missed the initial writeup: things worked and stopped working AFTER fiber disruption & repair.

FYI: two receivers HR24 hardwired ethernet to ASUS RT_AX-86U Pro router that is hardwired to NOKIA ONT router fiber in Bridge mode. No double NAT.

How many times do I need to run the connection setup - is 30 enough.

How many days do I need to wait for it to start working - is 20 days enough.

Sure, it is all so simple: DTV satellite box sends ON demand request to a server out there - how come this request appears not to to get there or if it gets to the server how come the stream does not find the way back to my satellite receive and TV?

Technically - what is involved in that operation specifically?

DTV Satellite people front end are just a script readers and know nothing. The ISP is "virtual"= agents know nothing. Maybe Nokia people would know - but I "talk" to NOKOIA tru ISP agents. How much is lost in translations and how much Nokia people snow the ISP agents is frustrating tome.

We don't know why your ISP is not working to send and receiver data packets from the DTV receiver.  The most common cause is the router/gateway firewall or anti virus is blocking it or the correct ports are not open.
