Directv New iPAD and iPhone Apps - Can't watch recorded shows from DVR on iPad/iPhone
I am trying to use the new iPAD and iPhone apps to stream the shows that I have recorded on my DVR when I am on my home network and I can only watch the shows if they are available as a stream from the broadcast company. On the previous versions of the Directv App, I can stream from my home DVR as long as I am at home. In addition, there is no longer an options to download recorded shows to my iPAD which keeps me from watching my recorded shows when traveling.

AFAIK it is a bug in the app, there are posts here that you can still use the old app.

@Dunkerts yes simply press 'Continue' on the popup and then re-enter the old DIRECTV on The Go Application without closing it. The popup will then disappear and you can use the old app as normal.

I noticed that there was a new version of the Directv app for iPAD and iPhone in the last couple of days. Unfortunately, the issue with the recorded shows on the DVR is still broken. You can only watch the shows if they are available on demand streaming. This is very frustrating as the different channels streaming only has 3-5 episodes. I recorded an entire season of the program and am trying to watch it on my iPAD and it does not work.
I know I can keep using the old app, but according to another post, the old app will only be available for 60days. Hopefully this issue will be resolved before then.

Well are they ever going to fix it? I pay a premium for this service and I expect it to work! Another reason to abandon DirecTV after the football season(Sunday Ticket)

The Directv APP (Edited per community guidelines) and always has!!!! Not sure why they can't get a dang software group that knows what they are doing. But they sure can route you to every tom, (Edited per community guidelines), and harry associate in Indonesia (or whatever foreign country they are in) until the call gets disconnected and you give up. DirecTV....get your act together! No wonder everyone is going streaming these days.

I feel exactly the same way. They told me a year ago that the Directv engineers were working on this. Still 2023, you can’t watch recorded shows from DVR on your iPad!
