Direct TV APP

Several days ago the Direct TV app stopped working on all our devices. We tried reinstalling the APP, restarting the Direct TV box and our internet.  We spent 2 hours on the phone with 4 different people with the result being a ticket would be created. A few hours ago we received an email telling us they resolved the problem, but we are still getting the same errors!!  Is anyone else having this issue?  I’m ready to cancel Direct TV.

What streaming devices are you using? What do you mean "stopped working"? Any messages or error codes?

The APP no longer works on our IPads or phones.  The APP makes us sign in each time and we receive either error code 8003 or 600.  Also states we ran into an issue please try again later.  This started 3 or 4 days ago. We have Direct TV satellite for our television, but use the APP on our iPad and iPhones to watch programs.

So you are actually a DirecTV Satellite subscriber and not a DirecTV Stream subscriber, correct? They are 2 different paid subscription services. Sounds like you are streaming DirecTV Satellite, correct?

That is very strange. The care codes that you referenced are both for not getting a signal from the Satellite dish.  Are you having any viewing problems when watching TV connected directly from the dish?  Are you able to access your Directv service from a browser on a computer?

We are Direct TV satellite customers.  We previously had no issues using the APP on our IPhone and IPads.  In fact when I was in Florida, I watched my programs on the IPad.  It seems only to be our devices.  The Fire Stick in one of televisions is able to load the APP.

I had this issue as well.  I called 800-531-5000.  Apparently, AT&T and DirectTV now have separate accounts and they need to link your account correctly.  This is very new and no one was notified.  You can no longer pay or access your Direct TV account via the AT&T app either.   Luckily, this was very easy.  I was not on the call long at all and they were able to correct this quickly.  Have a device available during your call.

AT&T has sold off their remaining shares of DTV last year and sold off 30% a couple years ago and started the separation then.

i started having the problem last week . i called tech support same issue as you nothing resolved.

i use the directv app associated with my parent's account that I set up. until last week I've been using the app since 2021. no problems until past week when I got a message that said you are no subscribed to every channel. i deleted the app reinstalled it etc. nothing . called direct they can't figure it out. so I created a new direct app account and I was able to view free channels no problem. I even tried to access the account overview and I'm sent to a page that talks about viewing NFL games. its all screwed up.

Same here. The DirecTV App (for DirecTV Satellite users) version 5.0.74 no longer works. Launching the App makes you log in each time then goes to a black screen forever. 

Tried logging in to my account to view DirecTV on a Mac and same issue. This is definately a DirecTV backend server issue.

If DirecTV can't resolve this in a timely matter or come up with some workable solution it is useless service for me and I will have to cancel.

I also am a satellite user and used stream in my bedroom. It was working in the morning and that evening most of my channels had disappeared. I  called about a month and was given the story they were doing maintenance. I waited a couple of weeks called again and was told there was something wrong with the app. I use Roku devices on my TVs and it is the same on all three. I think they are trying to cut streaming to satellite with out people paying for it. Fortunately I live by my self and just got a transmitter and receiver and remote extender and watch the satellite feed now. Not a good sign for long term use.

Following advice from itsbarrett I decided to try creating a new login username and password for the DirecTV App as I was using my @att.net before which was working then recently stopped causing the issues described in these threads (black screen after trying to log in).

Using a different email login name (not an @att.net ) and new password I now able to login again and stream my DirecTV channels as I was able to before. I am a long time DirecTV satellite subscriber and part of the reason I stayed with them was the ability to stream channels on my iPhone and iPad. 

It's worth a try and hopefully this works for others as well.
