CW in low-def (Charlottesville, VA)

DTV is downgrading the HD signal from WVIR-2 (The CW) to standard def in Charlottesville, VA. Which means I am forced to watch many of my hometown UVA Cavaliers football and basketball games, as well as many other ACC games, in absolutely horrendous low-def. Speaking with fans in other markets, they are not having those issues. The CW has a contract to broadcast a number of football and basketball games. Sending high-level sports to us in low-def is just simply unacceptable in 2024. Will DTV begin to upgrade that signal? Or should I start looking for a streaming option that will?

If must have your local channel in HD instead of SD then find another provider. That or see if you can pick up the digital broadcast by regular antenna (can supplement the service until one day that single channel is available in higher resolution or even pick up other channels in the area DirecTV doesn't have).
