blackouts
Why is there no way for the support teams to fix an error in their blackout database? When An event it is blacked out improperly you have no mechanism to call anyone to fix it. the only recourse is to compain and maybe in a few days someone might reach back out but for live events how does that help
Todays blackout is the NYC marathon for example on ESPN2? the support team kept asking what team i was trying to contact.. come on how dumb.. then after 2 hrs a next level support called me back and went thru the same dumb questions..
its just a matter of fixing the zip code map which they dont seem to know even exists

Hello. We are sorry for the interruption to your event and the previous experience with customer service. Sports blackout restrictions are stipulated by the leagues, associations, and networks that purchase the right to broadcast individual games. Due to these broadcast rights and legal arrangements, certain games might not be available. We appreciate your understanding, if you need further assistance, don't hesitate to reach us back. Thank you for choosing DIRECTV. Dylan, DIRECTV Community Specialist

thats not how it works.. you get a list of zip codes thats applied.. But when its done in error there seems to be no way to fix it.. in this case you can watch this event in this zip code on cable or fios or dish or streaming but not on the directv sat.. The same rules would apply to all these broadcast mediums..
the issue isnt the rules its that you have the wrong list of zip codes and the way to fix it is to escalate it to the higher level tech but you can elevate it that high fast enough to fix the issue any more. You used to be able to escale blackout mistakes and now you just get handed off to low level support who only know the question of which team are you trying to watch.
a marathon is not a sports team. This happens all the time and now it cant be fixed any more in real time like it used to be.
