At& T Direct TV Station disputes
What kind of service is AT&T and Direct TV pulling here. On the 4th of July the local NBC stations was pulled because of Nexstar this lasted all Summer and on Labor Day weekend the station was back on the air. Now they are at it again with threating the removal of the local CBS stations because of a dispute with Sinclair. Next I guess we will have to go through 3 months of this crap then it will be whoever owns the local ABC stations. I am totally ready to just say forget about all Cable or satellite TV viewing and go back to the good old days of keeping my money in my pocket and laying off the High Blood Pressure meds and just watch the free tv stations and read books. This is a SCAM that the customers are being punished for paying high way robbery payments to continue going through these disputes annually. GROW UP an stop being the low minded kid that takes his ball and refuses to play unless you get your way. You are teaching people like me to live WITHOUT Cable, Satellite and PAID TV Viewing.

Folks complain when local station owners pull their channels from providers like DirecTV demanding more money.
And folks complain that their subscription rates are too high.
So what are service providers like Dish, Comcast and DirecTV to do?
Here's a suggestion. File a complaint with the FCC. Ask that the FCC allow service providers to deliver another network station instead. That would stop this BS in a heartbeat. After all, these are FREE over-the-air TV stations. Why should TV providers have to pay them anything?
These greedy station owners, like Sinclair, are killing the cable/satellite business.
Since 2010, millions of Americans have seen dark screens instead of watching their favorite channels due to more than 1,000 broadcaster-initiated blackouts. With 230 blackouts, 2019 is the worst year for TV blackouts on record.
230 blackouts in 2019 – Retrans Fees: $11.7B (estimated)
165 blackouts in 2018 – Retrans Fees: $10.5B
213 blackouts in 2017 – Retrans Fees: $9.3B
104 blackouts in 2016 – Retrans Fees: $7.9 B
193 blackouts in 2015 – Retrans Fees: $6.4B
94 blackouts in 2014 – Retrans Fees: $4.8B
119 blackouts in 2013 – Retrans Fees: $3.6B
90 blackouts in 2012 – Retrans Fees: $2.4B
42 blackouts in 2011 – Retrans Fees: $1.7B
8 blackouts in 2010 – Retrans Fees: $1.2B
** Retrans fees in $billions based on data from SNL Kagan
And no TV provider is immune. Just look at all of the TV providers that have been hit with these disputes caused by ever-greedy station owners ....

I let Direct TV talk me into getting a new DVR because they told me the mine was old and would be obsolete soon I lost years of movies and one time only programs to find out during the last Nextstar blackout that my new dish and new box was not compatible with the so called free antenna they said they would send me to solve not getting the blackout station. Now I am stuck with a new contract that is for two years
I am counting the time and I will drop AT&T and Directv like there Hot

Well that's just great if you can put up an outdoor antenna...I can't for two reasons: 1. we are so far from the transmitter, that an antenna is no good, even if the station wasn't on the other side of a mountain. 2. HOA bylaws specify NO cheesy antennas on roofs etc...Cable; or dish installations on a discreet side wall, or on a small mast somewhere in the back is the recommended location for a disk.
I don't blame KHQ for not wanting to provide profit making content to DirectV for free; I'd insist they pay a fair price for my content also.

Who can I complain to about the loss of KTLA and NewsNation stations? I finally found news stations that I trust and they're gone! Is this an AT&T problem or is it Nexstar? I want them back!

Only Nexstar can return the feed at anytime they didn't have to remove it as DTV will continue to send it out while they talk.
