I am renting and they provide Direct TV. I pay for an Acorn account from my previous location. Can I add a ROKU device to the TV and stream Acorn?

Any apps that you add to your Roku connected to that TV don't have anything to do with DirecTV. Or maybe I'm not understanding your question.

DirecTV is not internet so that has nothing to do with your Roku providing Acorn.
If you have internet service then you connect Roku to that and use streaming apps.
