Wrong connection on receiver. Ethernet and need coax.

I have had Uverse for approximately 12 years.  I have one primary receiver (set-top box) that is the recording one and two secondary receivers on my other TVs.  One of my secondary boxes has been freezing during playback of recorded programs.  It only happens on that one box.  I have to restart that box, sometimes 3 times, to get the playback going again.

I finally called AT&T a few days ago and they agreed to send me a replacement receiver.  The new receiver arrived yesterday.  I had told the agent on the phone the model number of the old receiver and even told him that it had a coax link to the gateway.  The replacement receiver only has an ethernet connection to the gateway.

I called AT&T and talked to a different agent who told me that, gee, they don’t make a receiver with coax connections anymore and that I was on my own to run new wiring in my house.  I complained about that and he finally told me that I could buy an inline adapter from Amazon for $8-$10.  I investigated that option and the manufacturer explicitly states that the adapter will not work with Uverse.   What do I do?  AT&T is leaving me high and dry.

I have fiber optics service into the house.

I am quite disappointed with AT&T to put it mildly!

Any suggestions or thoughts out there?
