No.  AT&T tried that when they first rolled out Wireless Receivers and found it didn't work very well, so they ended the practice in favor of the WAP.  You could run an Ethernet cable across the floor back to the Gateway as a temporary measure.

  • I need to set up a wireless receiver, for another TV in the house, using a WAP.
  • The HDMI IN 1 (STB) source port is already connected to a TV through the Gateway.
  • My TV has the HDMI IN 2 (DVI) source port available, and the Gateway has an available port labeled 4.
  • I also have NETGEAR ProSAFE Plus Switch GS105E device with available Ports 3, 4 & 5.

What do I need to do? I would truly appreciate someone's help.

Hello jradko7

We are happy to help you set up your wireless receiver. Learn how to install your wireless receiver and Wireless Access point (WAP) device using PDF, video, or step-by-step instructions.

Connect your WAP to your Wi-Fi gateway
If you already have a WAP and didn’t receive a new one for installation, skip to Connect your wireless receiver to your TV. If you did receive a new WAP, replace your old WAP with the new one and follow the instructions below to connect it to your Wi-Fi gateway.

Note: To find setup instructions for a specific model of wireless receiver or WAP, visit AT&T U-verse User and Feature Guides.

  1. Using the yellow Ethernet cable, connect the WAP to an open Ethernet port on your Wi-Fi gateway.
  2. Move the WAP as far away as possible from the W-Fi gateway.
  3. Plug the WAP’s power cord into a working electrical outlet.

Connect your wireless receiver to your TV

  1. Connect the wireless receiver to your TV with an HDMI cable (not included). You may also use component or coaxial cables.
  2. Power on your TV.
  3. Using your TV remote control, select the connection type you used above. For example, if you used an HDMI cable, select HDMI. You may need to consult your TV user manual to locate the Input/Source screen.
  4. Put the two-part power cord together and use it to plug the wireless receiver into an electrical outlet. The receiver will power on automatically.
  5. Wait about a minute. You’ll receive additional instructions to complete your setup.

Pair a new wireless receiver with an existing WAP

  1. Press the WPS button on your WAP.
  2. On the front of your wireless receiver, press the OK button within two minutes. Pairing occurs quickly.
  3. Confirm that at least three LED green bars are lit on the wireless receiver. When you see a green LED lit on the front of the receiver, you’ve paired successfully. It may take a few minutes for live TV to appear.

Pair existing wireless receivers with a new WAP
If you replaced your WAP, you’ll need to pair any existing, wireless receivers with the new WAP.

  1. Restart each receiver by pressing and holding the Power button for 10 seconds.
  2. Confirm that at least three LED green bars are lit on the wireless receiver. When you see a green LED lit on the front of the receiver, you’ve paired successfully. It may take a few minutes for live TV to appear.

If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to reach back out.

@jradko7 , if AT&T's post helped, then great... if not then I have to say I'm confused by your post:

I need to set up a wireless receiver, for another TV in the house, using a WAP.

Fine so far.

The HDMI IN 1 (STB) source port is already connected to a TV through the Gateway.

I was doing okay up to "through the Gateway".  Is what you're saying is that you already have a Receiver (connected to the TV via HDMI) that is not wireless and is connected to the Gateway via Ethernet (or coax)?

My TV has the HDMI IN 2 (DVI) source port available, and the Gateway has an available port labeled 4.

Your TV should only need on HDMI input for a single U-verse receiver.  The Gateway should not have any HDMI ports.

I also have NETGEAR ProSAFE Plus Switch GS105E device with available Ports 3, 4 & 5.

That's a fine way to connect a receiver, if it's not wireless (which is what you asked about).

What do I need to do? I would truly appreciate someone's help.

If you clarify my questions above, and in general what you're looking to achieve, I'll do my best.
