Wireless receivers not pairing with WPS

I recently painted my living room which required power down of all U-Verse equip.  When power was restored the DVR and main TV work fine but the 2 bedroom wireless receivers are not working. I pressed the WPS button on the little box and the light eventually turns green on both the wps and the receivers but the tv's still don't connect..... the screen says "U-Verse is not avail and try again later".   The has been going on for over a week and I can't get a chat going with AT&T tech support.  I have "rebooted" all devices and still nothing  Can you folks give me some ideas?   Thanks, RON in Mobile, Alabama.

Ron, try unplugging the gateway, your DVR and the WAP. Then, plug in just the gateway, and let it fully restart. Next, plug in the DVR and allow it to fully restart, followed by the WAP. Then go try restarting your wireless boxes one at a time and see if they successfully pair with the WAP. WPS has nothing to do with pairing your wireless receivers.

Well there actually is a WPS button on the WAP (not to be confused with the one on the gateway) and I seem to recall you need to push it to pair with WAP at the point in time the instructions on the tv asks you to push it.  But I have a VAP2500 WAP and an ISB7005 wireless receiver and I haven't had to re-pair the WAP and receiver since the day I first installed it some years ago.  And I am always disconnecting my wireless receiver to share it between two tvs (don't use one of the tv's enough to warrant additional $10/month charge) and also occasionally turning off the WAP to do some wire rearranging.  So if those are the models being used I don't know why it's asking to re-pair at all.  If not there may be something else going on or the pairing instructions are not being followed in the order they indicate.

You're right, of course, @_xyzzy_ my WPS statement was incorrect. Like you, I haven't used the WPS button in years, although I move my wireless receivers frequently.

I have a TV and ISB7005 STB that pairs with my VAP2500 AP and a second TV with VIP2500 STB that won't pair or connect. I have a new VIP2500 that AT&T has sent me that won't boot either. I have powered off and rebooted the NVG589 gateway, the ISB7500 DVR and VAP2500 in order and still won't connect the TV with either of two new VIP2500 STBs. The TV with the ISB7005 boots and connects flawlessly. I move the VIp2500 to this TV and it won't pair/connect.  AT&T is sending me another VAP2500 and I am thinking its not going to work as I have read elsewhere on the forum that the first two STBs need be the ISB7005. What's going on?

Davemize -TY for posting this remedy because after 45 minutes of trying multiple things, this FIXED my problem!

My 2nd DVR kept giving me a message to “Set up your Wireless TV Receiver” with 2 pictures & instructions:

1-Press and hold the WPS button on your Access Point (not on Gateway) for 10 secs.

2-Press the OK button on the front of the TV Wireless Receiver.

Do not use the OK button on the remote. The instructions given on the tv did NOT work, restarting the dvr / wifi (gateway) individually didn’t work either.

I unplugged everything per your instructions, and then I plugged in the gateway, letting it fully set up, then I plugged in the primary DVR, followed by the secondary DVR, and let them set up. Finally, I plugged in the WAP, and then pressed the WPS button for 10 seconds followed by pressing the OK button on the primary DVR, followed by the secondary DVR and let them set up. Finally, everything worked as it should. TY again 😊
