Wireless Receiver Trouble

I changed to fiber optic in February. Since then, I have been having so much trouble with my wireless receiver. It cuts off programs on DVR, pixilated when watching live TV. I have done the reboots with no luck. My receivers are all over 10 years old. Could that be the problem?

Hello @Missearp,

We understand your concern, and we are here to help you!

We recommend that you try some basic troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:

  1. Restart your receiver: Press and hold the power button on your receiver for 10 seconds to restart it.
  2. Check your connections: Ensure all cables and cords are connected properly and securely.
  3. Move your wireless receiver closer to the WAP: If you’re having trouble pairing your receiver with your Wireless Access Point (WAP), your receiver may be too far away from your WAP. Move your wireless receiver closer to the WAP, then pair them by pressing the WPS button on your WAP and the OK button on your wireless receiver. Pairing takes about two minutes.
Also, you can try Troubleshoot a wireless U-verse TV receiver article it will give you better clarity.

We look forward to your response and the opportunity to help you!

Thank you, Irene. However, I cannot move my WAP closer to the receiver. Why would I need to when it has been working for years and years in this location? Nothing has changed. I've added no furniture or new walls.

It is not a matter of not wanting to move the WAP or the receiver, they literally have no place to be moved. There is a hallway between the rooms.
