Wireless Receiver Replaced with Wired Receiver?

I called in last week because my wireless receiver was not working. After 20 minutes on the phone with a rep to get a replacement, I get a Motorola VIP1200. When I try to connect  I get a "ATT Uverse not available. Please try again later".  So I look up the model and is it wireless? NO, IT'S NOT.  Then I try to connect it via coaxial and I still get the same error. How hard is it to get a working wireless receiver replacement? Apparently, very difficult for AT&T.

Hi @CMUBruin, thank you for reaching out to us. We got you, and let's get the help you need.

We recommend that you follow the steps below to connect your U-verse receiver to your TV with a coaxial cable:

  1. On the back of the AT&T U-verse TV receiver, look for the connection TO TV. Connect the coaxial cable between TO TV and VIDEO IN on the back of your television. Don't disconnect any Network or TO WALL cables.
  2. Plug your U-verse TV receiver into the wall to give it power.
  3. Turn on your TV.
  4. Using your TV's remote control (not your U-verse TV remote control), change your TV to Ch. 3.
  5. Your TV should display the AT&T U-verse screen, press OK to Watch TV.
  6. Use the U-verse TV remote control to select AT&T followed by OK.

Also, please check out our article on how to replace a wired U-verse TV receiver.

Let us know how it goes. Please feel free to reach out to us for further assistance.
