Where to return broken remote
Hi,
I recently received a replacement remote controller for my U-verse DVR after chatting with the rep.
I was told to return the broken one through the UPS store.
So I brought the remote to the UPS store but they only accept main equipment returns, not just a remote.
It is not worth returning a broken remote controller (used for maybe 5+ years).
Should I just trash it?

We understand your situation. Returning a broken remote controller can indeed be a hassle, especially if it’s not considered “main equipment.” Let’s shed some light, @Keithomori2!
AT&T’s return policy varies based on the type of equipment and service. Generally, we accept returns for main equipment like Wi-Fi gateways and receivers.
Remember that returning undamaged equipment within 21 days of service change or disconnect date can help you avoid any fees. We accept remote with main equipment, not just a remote.
Let us know if this information helps.
Thank you for contacting AT&T Community Forum.

I was told $150 will be charged for non returned equipment. It does not sound right for a remote.
Anyway, I guess you are advising me to hang on to the damaged remote until there is a reason to return the main equipment (DVR unit in my case).

Hey @Keithomori2,
Thank you for reaching out to us!
We understand how it makes you feel, let's point you in the direction.
You can only return the equipment's such as Wi-Fi extender, IRD-DVD, modern etc.
Unfortunately, we don't have an option to return the damaged remote.
