Where to Recycle?
Cancelled my U-Verse subscription and received an email that said "We've received your request and for your convenience, there is no need for you to return your equipment." Underneath that message, in a smaller box, was this: "To help simplify your life and support the environment we've partnered with a 100% green compliant e-recycle center to take back your unused, non-repairable or outdated electronic devices. Visit https://att.com/recycle for step-by-step instructions and to print a pre-paid shipping label."
The link provided does not take me to any information and doing a search on the website just takes me to a generic return page.
Are they telling me I HAVE to recycle it? Or is that optional? Thanks for any help

It seems AT&T has been giving conflicting information. If they insist you do not need to return the boxes, find a closet and let them gather dust.
If they do insist on a return, get a receipt with confirmation number and hold on to it for dear life.
I would not do anything else.

I would recommend that you totally ignore the recycling e-mail. Others have gotten that e-mail, then 10 days later got an e-mail telling them to return the equipment. I don't know why AT&T is so f'ed up these days.
Take your equipment and your account number to a The UPS Store or FedEx Office. They can scan them in for return and give you a receipt. Hold on to that receipt.
