Where is IR eye on Arris VIP 2500?
IR emitter worked perfectly on previous Cisco box. Now have Arris and can't find IR eye. It seems too small and only works intermittantly

We would be happy to help you with the IR remote sensor issue @barryd100!
This model does make it harder to see where the sensor is located but it is normally around the power button.
If you are at least 4 feet away and nothing is blocking the remote from the receiver the IR sensor should have line of sight.
If not, most of the equipment is compatible to be set for RF and would not need to be aimed at the receiver. You can also try to program the remote to RF to get it working more reliably. Follow: Common Topics > Remote Control > I have U-verse > Program Remote > Point Anywhere RF Remote
Please let us know if this helps resolve the issue!

I need exact position of the IR sensor on the Arris Uverse box model VIP 2500 because I plan to keep box in closed cabinet (as I did with Cisco box) and will use the same IR emitter as used for years with my Cisco. I wonder if other Uverse subscribers have placed Arris box in closed cabinets and connected through IR emitter. "Feeling around" for the sensor on Arris is more difficult than with other cable boxes. Successful solutions would be appreciated.

Thank you for responding back @barryd100!
The IR sensor is directly below the AT&T logo on the right hand side
However, the RF option we have mentioned before does allow you to use the remote with the receiver through cabinet doors or walls, without the need of access to the IR sensor. So it would be something worth to consider trying if this does not work.
Let us know if this helps answer your question!

Uverse just replaced Arris cable box with Cisco ISB7105. Where is exact position of IR sensor on box? Also, RF Point Anywhere remote, suggested above, is available on Amazon and has many 1-star reviews. All responders say that it works intermittently at best.

Hi, @barryd100.
Thank you to the previous agent who provided a picture with the location of the IR emitter for you. The other location that it could be is right next to the red record button on the receiver.
Let us know if you have any more questions or concerns.

The previous agent sent picture of Arris. I now have Cisco ISB7105. I can't find photo of this box showing location of IR sensor on web. Can you provide this? Also, ant advice on RF Point Anywhere remote? I don't see where to buy from ATT except Amazon which has terrible reviews. Ian sure many Uverse customers have solved this problem more easily than what I am experiencing.

Hello, @barryd100
We can help you locate the exact location of the IR sensor on your Cisco ISB7105.
We linked the product manual for any future reference.
At this time, we no longer offer the RF Point Anywhere remotes for new orders or replacements, which is why you had trouble finding one in our shop. You can still get one from 3rd party sites though, as you've already found.
Let us know if you have any other questions,

Hi @kneshell26, we appreciate your reply.
The vip2262v2 is a bit trickier. We have some manuals and spec sheets for this model but none are showing the location of the sensor.
I've seen some anecdotal responses from other forum users on this model that it may be between the Record light and the Menu button.
Sorry, we don't have anything more specific about this.

Regarding the AT&T VIP 2500 wireless TV Box The information regarding the location of the IR Sensor is INCORRECT.
Just today I had an AT&T Tech out to my home, and he did not know the location of the sensor - after he left I began tinkering, and located it, and was able to get my rely / emitter to work again (within a closed cabinet).
The IR sensor / receiver is located between the USB port and the Signal Strength (4 bars) indicator lights (NOT under the ATT logo or under the Record light).
Hard to believe ATT techs are suggesting otherwise, or they just don't know their gear and sh*t.
Thankfully my system is working, I hope this is helpful.
