WAP VAP2500
I have ATT Uverse. I am having problems with the reception in the upstairs bedroom. The system has a Motorola VAP2500 WAP in the same room as the Gateway. The2500 is connected to the Gateway via Ethernet cable. Upstairs is a wireless client. The receiver shows 2 green bars and flips to 2 RED bars causing an extremely bad signal. How can I improve the reception?

How close to the Gateway is the VAP2500? If less than 3 feet, see if you can get it to 3 feet away.
How far away is the receiver from the point on the floor directly above the VAP2500?

You might find that "aiming" the VAP2500 by tilting it so that you point one side towards the receiver (prop up the end closest to the receiver) helps with reception. The other is moving the VAP2500 towards the receiver.
And, If you haven't already, power both the receiver and the VAP2500 for 30 seconds and plug them back in.

Definitely need more than 2 green bars. Did this setup ever work well? Other than repositioning the hardware as @JefferMC suggested, I doubt there’s much you can do to make it better for wireless.
