Voice Command remote?

We had Xfinity TV and we had a remote that would respond to your voice. Just  say the name of the channel and you would get it in a second. Does U Verse also have a remote with those options?. Our standard U Verse TV remote looks like 1990s technology and not very user friendly.

Voice command is not a feature of the AT&T provided remote.

The Uverse App does provide Voice Command.  See features HERE

it would be nice if ATT Uverse got their act together.   We had Xfinity for years and recently switched due to an attractive bundle deal with our mobile phones.    The uverse remote control & user interface is so outdated compared to Xfinity.  As a sports fan, it's such a hassle to determine what's playing and what channel it's playing on.  With Xfinity, they have a button on the RC that pulls up all sports currently playing.   Alternatively, you can use the voice command and it brings up the show you want.  admittedly, we didn't spend much time researching the remote control or user interface experience prior to switching,  for we figured AT&T would keep up with the competition.  Especially when the technology has been out for years.   A disappointed customer.

ATT is back in the dark ages with technology and will never compete with Comcast.

I agree they have voice command for direct tv another ATT product why is it so hard to update there equipment.  I was with Comcast for over 20 years.  Signed a 1 year contract before I realized Uverse limitations.  They are sure far behind comcast.  ATT are you listening you need to be if you don't want me to go back to Comcast when my contract is up.

@derfberger   What are you attempting to do exactly?  Are trying to cast from your phone to your TV?

We too agree that Direct TV is far behind other servers. We are switching.

I would be VERY cautious about this! When our ATT cable box failed, we called and they sent a new one. We then had to pay $295.88 for the equipment! How much do you think these voice commands cost when they break?

@Youfailedus Uverse equipment is all leased.

Monthly Lease fees? Yes.

Can you purchase equipment? No

I would be VERY cautious of this new device. When we simply had DirectTV, our cable box failed and we had to pay $295.88. I have spent the past four months and hours on hold, they NEVER resolved it. They promised a MasterCard refund that never came.

How much do you think these Voice Remotes would cost?

@Youfailedus So you had DirecTV? You posted in Uverse TV and said you had to pay for equipment so I was confused.

Uverse TV and DirecTV are two completely different services, two completeley different products with two completely different types of equipment.

We have Comcast and AT&T internet with the landline. Went to buy a voice remote and Comcast/xfinity said we had to change our internet to use the voice remote.

Hello Iceprnz0877, we can address your inquiry about your voice remote.

You may need Comcast Internet in order for the voice remote to work, however, that is not something we can confirm. We suggest reaching out to Comcast for more details. As skeeterintexas mentioned, Voice Command is available on the U-verse app, but of course that is for U-verse TV customers.
