UVerse Wireless receiver not connecting to the WAP.
My wireless receiver disconnected while watching TV. It has been restarted multiple times, the power cord disconnected, attempted to reconnect to the WAP, and now it won't reconnect or properly pwer up. Unable to RESET again. Help.

There is a very nice trick try it out It has to be in order . First unplug power cable from receiver leave it unplugged ,and then unplug the WAP leave it unplugged ,and then unplug the modem for 1 min . After that in order turn on the modem until broadband is solid green and services is solid green after that plug back the WAP ,after that plug back the receiver it connect automatically .

JoeTech has described the "whole house reboot," except that he left out the DVR. You should unplug it too, and plug it back in (and let it reboot) after the Gateway and before the WAP, so the order is:

what is the maximum distance from WAP to receiver for a solid connection?
Is this bluetooth or wifi connection?

I am trying to figure out why a wireless receiver keeps losing its signal from WAP that is
well within that distance. There is a wall between them but from what I have read Wi-Fi
doesn't have problem getting through walls. It's just the typical interior wall in our house.
Rebooting the receiver always solves it but would be nice to figure it out!
The receiver is almost new.

We'd be glad to help you fix your receiver's connection, egandp!
Try the whole home reboot that JefferMC recommended, and let us know if the connection improved. If it didn't, we can have a technician come out and take a look at no cost to you.
We'll be awaiting your response.

I've tried the unplug everything already. The connection does come back but
in a few days or a week or two it will lose the connection again. I believe
the unplugging things does help to reconnect but it doesn't seem to
keep connection.
I was thinking maybe a week Wi-Fi signal. We do have a Wi-Fi extender
probably 5 feet from the receiver but there is one wall between it and the receiver.
I've also read that "extenders" actually weaken the signal so maybe that's a problem.
I would rather not invest a ton of money in a mesh system. Is there something in between
a whole mesh network and something less expensive?
We did have a technician here to replace both receivers but that didn't solve the problem
of the one in the other room occasionally losing its connection.
Is there a way to actually test the strength of the Wi-Fi signal at the location of offending
receiver? Other than looking at the green bars on the receiver.
Other Wi-Fi devices, phones, tablets, laptops have no problem with Wi-Fi in that room.
Puzzling! thanks for all the suggestions.

120 feet is pretty much the maximum with no walls or interference and a tail wind. A practical max is less than half of that.
