Uverse tv No Signal

When I turn on the TV I get HDMI in the upper right hand corner.  Then, NO SIGNAL pops around the screen.  I tried to turn off the box for 10 second then turn back on this did not work.  I'm older and pretty upset.  I don't understand all this stuff.  There is an AT&T service person coming on Saturday.  But, I thought maybe someone had a suggestion that I would understand.

You need to know HOW your U-verse box is connected to your TV.

Is it Component, HDMI 1 or maybe HDMI 2, etc.  Once you know how the receiver is connected to your TV, find the proper input using your TV remote.

Fair warning:  If you called AT&T for this simple fix, you will be charged $99.

Thanks so much.  I'm not home right now.  I did see a utube that showed HDMI on the back of the TV.  The TV has been set for many years.  Are you saying I may have pushed the wrong button on the Remote?  Also, it is connect to a Sony Surround sound.  Could that remote be an issue.  I appreciate any help you can give me.  And, yes they are coming tomorrow.

Thanks for reaching out to us and we'd be happy to help with your Uverse TV signal, @gjl724.

We appreciate @skeeterintexas for providing that helpful information.

To get started, we'd recommend checking out our information to troubleshooting your TV service

  • Restart your TV receiver by holding the POWER button down for 10 seconds then pressing it again to restart. This process takes 5-8 minutes and will impact any DVR recordings in progress.
  • Restart your Wi-Fi® Gateway by removing the power cord for one minute then plugging it back in. This will interrupt all of your AT&T services, including phone and TV.
Please let us know if this helps as we may need to get you into a DM to check in after your tech apppointment that you have tomorrow.

Check the following

  1. Check HDMI connection and ensure it's secure.
  2. Use TV remote to cycle through inputs.
  3. Restart both TV and device.
  4. Test different HDMI port.
  5. Try another HDMI cable if possible.
  6. Service person coming Saturday can help further

Please what does #2 mean "Use TV remote to cycle through inputs'? How do I do that?
