Uverse remote

I replaced a tv with bigger one recently.  However my UVerse remote does not turn it on.  Only remote for Roku tv works.  It takes me several steps to get the tv on.  Pressing power button on Roku remote turns on, scroll to the right for the cable image, press enter.  They I have the pre screen for uverse and I have to press ok on my uverse remote to get tv.  How do I just turn on the tv with the uverse remote??

It sounds like it needs to be programmed. If you hit "menu" on the U-Verse remote, I think there's something in the "help" menu.

I tried to use the help button.  Uverse remote doesn't recognize Roku tv.  Tried to put in manually but still not recognized.  Tried to use manual remote set up but that didn't work.  Can't turn on or off nor use volume or mute button on uverse remote.  Roku turns on tv, controls volumn and mute and turns off.  However once it turns on I have to scroll right for HDMI feature then I get the screen to push button for tv to come on.  Got any ideas?  Oh yes, restarted my Uverse box.  still doesn't work.

We're happy to help with pairing your U-verse remote to your TV, @gaymarie.

You can use the setup tool to program your U-verse TV remote control.

  1. With your TV on, press menu on your U-verse TV remote.
  2. Select Help > Information > Remote Control Setup.
  3. Next, select your remote control from the TV onscreen list. Refer to your specific remote for TV/device setup options.
  4. Select Top Ten Brand Setup and since the manual set up did not work, select Automatic Code.
  5. Automatic Code Search - Your remote searches for the right device code. (After choosing this option, select TV or Audio Device, and then follow the instructions.

Let us know if you have tried this or if this helps.
