U-Verse is not working

I just set up a new AT&T Gateway modem, and while my internet is up and running, my U-verse TV is not. How do I fix this myself? Also, two ethernet cables are blinking amber. AT&T content says this means an update is in progress. Does this have to do with my U-verse not working? Any thoughts or solutions are very much appreciated.

Did you reboot the DVR & STBs?

I just set up a new AT&T Gateway modem,

Why?  Where did the gateway come from?  Did you install a new Gateway in the exact same configuration as a previous one?  What model is the new Gateway?

and while my internet is up and running, my U-verse TV is not.

I'm glad that at least the Internet is working.  That's a good start.  But, what, exactly, is the U-verse TV doing.  Nothing?  Boxes boot up but don't work right?

Also, two ethernet cables are blinking amber. AT&T content says this means an update is in progress

I'd like to see a blinking cable, and I'm sure nothing AT&T publishes says anything about a blinking cable meaning an update is in progress.  Now, on the BGW 320 for example, the Service LED blinking amber means an update is in progress.  But an Ethernet port blinking will not mean that.  And the BGW 320 doesn't have port lights, so you don't have one of them anyway.

An Ethernet port light blinking amber probably means that you have a 100baseTX connection to the client (which is normal for a U-verse TV receiver) and that communication is occurring over that connection.
