Uverse error code Red X3

Have rebooted the gateway, WAP, and uverse receiver. Once it goes through setup a red X appears, sometimes with a 3, sometimes without.

This a new receiver box sent by ATT UVerse recently.  

I am troubleshooting for my elderly parents who've spent numerous hours on the phone with an AT&T representative who is telling them the problem is their TV. Its not...please help.

Likely cause is set-top box not properly connected to gateway.  Check physical connections.

All connections are good. Thx. That is not the issue.

Hi there, baconhed! We understand that you are having problems installing a new U-Verse TV wireless receiver. We can help with that.

@baconhed 

I would physically connect that new settop box to the gateway via Ethernet cable and boot it up.  I’ll be highly surprised if Att shipped you a defective box.
