UVerse DVR sound starts fading in and out after about 1 minute.

Cisco AVH8005 DVR is having issues.  Sound starts fading in and out after about 1 minute.  The unit also required rebooting last nite.  This morning the unit would not reboot using the usual troubleshooting methods.  I then tried the method of unplugging followed by replugging the power supply, waiting for the 3 dots and repeating this 3 times.  The DVR finally reboot and is working but the sound is fading in and out.  Any help is much appreciated … may have a unit going bad.  I and going to try and use another UVerse box from the bedroom to see if the problem is associated with the TV.

You can call CS and have a replacement DVR sent to you for a self-install.  You will lose your recordings but not your schedule.

Returning equipment is questionable.  In the past, the "21 day return policy" would be the norm but with Uverse being phased out, customers are reporting that they didn't have to return the bad equipment.  CS and/or the followup email should provide instructions.

Please check the model number.  Did you mean ISB7005?   Good job on doing the factory reset.

Using another device on the questionable TV is always a good idea.

TBH, I would have tried that before posting.

The 8005, 8010, 8110, and 2262 are valid newer DVRs with some older equipment being the Motorola and Cisco 7500.

The mention of Cisco 7005 is a wireless receiver not a DVR.

I tried looking it up but didn’t get any hits. This may be the first time I’ve seen any user mention that unit

The 8000 series and 2262 were released 2016-2017 along with the GigaPower /ATT Fiber internet.

The 8005 has 500G harddrive like the 2250 and 7500 DVR while the 8010 and 8110 has 1T harddrive for customer on fiber receiving (6) HD stream instead of (4).

From memory the 2262 (1T HD)  is the upgraded replacement of 599G HD 2250.

The Cisco 7500 was for Cisco markets while the Motorla 2250 was Motorola markets. MILWAUKEE SE WI was Motorla while Madison/Janesville  and the Appleton/GreenBay were Cisco markets
