U-Verse DVR scheduled series recordings not functioning after 2 week period
DVR only shows future recordings for a period of 2 weeks upon creating a recorded series, and then it no longers creates or records the scheduled recording. Its as if it only wants to schedule 2 weeks from the initial series recording creation. Previous DVRs did not have this problem. As usual tech support no help. They should be replaced with text message "1. Unplug DVR, or 2. We will send you a new one." They have been absolutely helpless on an issue that THEY KNOW has effected perhaps 100,000s of their customers. Did someone say YouTubeTV?
PS: 13+ year customer, replaced 6 DVRs in past 8 years, and lost 100's or recordings and hundreds of hours of time.

Are you saying that the DVR STOPS recording a series after 2 weeks or it’s just not showing on the Scheduled page? That’s always been limited to 14 days.

Stops recording and it stops showing. If I record a series on July 1, scheduled series should show till July 14, and it does show and will record. But if 10 days later, on July 10, I view scheduled recordings, I should see the scheduled series recordings out to July 24, but I don't, they stop at the original July 14 date. Never had this happen before in 10+ years of UVerse.

The Scheduled page has always been limited to 14 days but if it has stopped recording after that, that is unusual.
As of today, 6/26, my DVR shows Scheduled recordings through 7/9.

The standard 14 day future window to show scheduled recordings is definitely not the issue, that is just how the system is supposed to work to show you future/scheduled recordings. But the DVR is not automatically showing series recordings beyond that initial 14 day window, its just scheduling 14 days worth from the initial series creation and no additional ones which it should, that's the issue. Any thoughts on fixing this issue? Thanks.

@baseballisback Can I get some help here? Either I’m not understanding the issue or the OP is not understanding the answer.

All I'm trying to say is I agree with you in that 14 days has always been the limit to view the scheduled recordings...you mentioned it several times without discussing the real issue...so I thought I had to make sure you knew that the 14 days standard viewing is not the issue. So, now that we have that clear, do you know why my recorded series never record more than 14 days out from original creation? Thank you.

Hi there, @mikepcola. We understand how inconvenient it is that your scheduled series are not recording past 14 days. Let's provide you with helpful information to help with DVR recordings in the future.
We would like to provide clarity on scheduled series recording process. You can only schedule within 2 week window. If you see a preview for a series that starts in 3-4 weeks, you cannot set a recording until you get into that 2 week window.
Here are some tips that may be helpful on fixing recording TV problems:
We hope this helps! If not, we may need to speak in a DM to properly assist you.

Roesy, once I select Troubleshoot and Resolve, the next screen says error and to call ATT Uverse. Not doing that. Before I ask if there are any other suggestions, let me ask, does ATT Uverse tech support know about this widespread issue as a whole? It doesn't feel like it for no one in tech support ever says "Yes, this is a known issue and ___ is the solution." Thanks!

So it sounds like:
Your series recordings aren't automatically picking up past 14 days.
To be honest, I've never used scheduled recordings.

“Picking up”….good terminology! 👏👏👏👏
TBH: I live my life according to my scheduled DVR recordings! 😜😜😜
I, personally, have never had the issue that the OP is describing. 🤷♀️

DM suggested I call them, I did, same thing, they dont have any record of widespread problems like the one I raised, so wait on new DVR, lose your recordings, again. (Edited per community guidelines). They either dont have it documented, in which they (Edited per community guidelines), or they do have it documented, but dont know how to relay the resolution info to their reps, so again they (Edited per community guidelines). All you ATT employees, thanks for your help, but its the high level folks that have the ability to effect change with how to POSITIVELY help customers, but they dont care or are incompetent.

Oh drat.
I meant series. I've never used that. I always schedule each show by itself.

I’m going to embarrassingly admit that I have over 60 series scheduled. 😳😳😳
Some are seasonal and some are on hiatus but I’m holding out hope that they’ll be back. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

TO Whom IT May Concern. I have been using the DVR option on AT&T stream and initially its been OK-HOWEVER-I've been having an issue. I had been taping the FBI series on a continuing basis so a manual set up on weekly basis was not necessary, the automatic option just did it week to week. The problem is when you get too much stuff on your save portion the DVR option stops working. ALSO, the FBI series is also on the ION network and I don't like watching reruns. I did click a switch that hopefully stops the weekly(or daily) recording to no avail. Now an even bigger problem has emerged: the Law and Order series is being auto recorded(from God knows where). I never requested the Law and Order series be recorded. I suspect some hackers running amuk. I think I know which political party they belong to. Anyway, I just changed my password and will see what happens net.
