U-verse DVR Issues
I’m having trouble with my U-verse and am pretty sure it’s with my DVR. I’m getting pixelation on the TV that’s hooked up to the TV, as well as on my recordings. I’ve watched the recordings on my other TVs and still have the pixelation. I’ve rebooted the receivers and the gateway to see if that helps. I’ve also gone through the process of unplugging them all and letting them sit and then powering them back up to no avail. I swapped the DVR from one TV to another and have the issue on that TV now as well as the recordings, and the other TV is fine now. How do I get a replacement DVR

Sorry, that is not a sign of a bad DVR, but a poor signal to the device. You should still call CS to explain your situation, and if they can’t diagnose the problem remotely, will have to schedule a truck roll.
You should also be aware any replacement hardware you get will be the same vintage of what you already have.

I don’t believe that a poor signal is the answer. I’ve had U-verse service for years and never had this issue. In addition, if it was a poor signal then all of my TV’s would be affected. I have no problem with the other three TVs in the house that don’t go through the DVR box. I plan to call and get a replacement DVR as the previous response suggested.

Just to be clear are you saying that live tv works fine on other set top box receivers? but recordings are pixelated on all receivers? Also does this happen on something just recently recorded?

Yes, live TV works fine on all the other set top boxes and recordings are pixelated on all receivers. It happened on something that I just recorded last week. But it doesn’t seem to be happening as often now since I moved the DVR to a tv that we don’t use as often.

If it only happens to some shows, unless you are watching the exact same show on another tv live and its not pixelated. it could be the dvr, but it sounds more like a line issue. If it improved when you moved it to a different tv it could also be the wire between gateway and that tv. (could be either coaxial or ethernet)

We are here to help get your DVR back up to par, @madmax988.
Thank you to the aces for the useful information.
We recommend that you reboot your gateway, because this will refresh the network and the equipment. This will help clear up the pixilation on the DVR.
Let us know if this helps.

I rebooted the gateway and the problem is still there. It only happens on the tv that goes through the DVR.
