U-verse app Not recognizing wireless network

The U-verse app is not connecting to my wireless network. Two months ago I noticed the app was not recognizing it. I have even upgraded to the new AT&T fiber, yet still the U-verse app does not recognize my network. Not sure why this is happening, and

so far nobody has been able to tell me.

I was told recently to power cycle all of my devices, including my gateway and the receivers I want to connect to. I will try this today…

We are here to help you with the U-verse app, OriginalGimp.

That is correct! We suggest that you reboot the gateway and the receivers as this will refresh the network and the equipment. This will also refresh the app itself.

Let us know if this helps.

After power cycling my gateway and my receivers I’m still not able to connect to my net work in the U-verse app. I’ve even restarted my device. Not sure why this is happening.

Hi there, OriginalGimp! Let's look at this from a different angle.

When it comes to Wi-Fi and the app, the app needs to be on the same Wi-Fi network as the receivers. To make sure that everything is on the same page so to speak, let's try the following steps located in our Enabling Communication Between U-verse TV and the U-verse app article to see if that helps.

In any event that these things are not working, can you try replicating the issue on the another device? The reason way we are asking this, is to eliminate the possibility of a device problem.

If you need any further help, please reach back out to us and let us know.

Thank you for using the AT&T Community Forums.

There is no solution to this issue.

Obviously I am on the same network between my iPhone, u-verse receiver and my gateway. This issue only started happening roughly 2 months ago. And yes, the U-verse app  is also not recognizing the network on my iPad.

Since no one can truly help I am considering this issue unsolvable.

Hi there, OriginalGimp! Thank you so much for getting back to us.

Nothing is unsolvable. The resolution may not present itself on the surface, so we need to dig a little deeper.

You stated that it roughly strated 2 months ago. If you remember, what changes were made 2 months ago? Did you get a new router or receiver?

The reason why we are probing this question is, sometimes changes made to a service can require a reconfiguration of the of the network in order to restore a connection problem.

We do know that there is a known log-in concern that is happening for the U-Verse app, but it looks like you are logged into the app successfully, and thus you are not affected by the known concern.

So let's take this in a new direction. We are going to move this interaction to a Direct Message format. There is a chat icon next to a bell icon at the top of the forums. Our next message to you will appear there. Please watch out for that message and follow the instructions provided.

Looking forward to seeing you in Direct Messages.

Thank you for reaching out to the AT&T Community Forums.

Roughly 2 months ago I traded in my old iPhone for a new iPhone 12. When I tried to load the U-verse app I noticed I was unable to find the net work. So I tried on my iPad and it was unable to locate the network as well. That’s the only reason I said two months. It may have been longer, but I just wasn’t using the U-verse app at the time.

also, two weeks ago I upgraded to the AT&T fiber. This did not change the situation. I still cannot connect to the network in the U-verse app.
i’ve tried power cycling the gateway and our U-verse receivers, but this did not help.

One thing you could try is to see if your U-verse app is listed in your local network. If so, make sure to flip on. That worked for some people - not for me because the app was not appearing in my list. So I am stuck.

Sorry! You are in the same place as many of us. :(

In reviews that I have read, there is no ETA on a fix either.

It’s weird, I noticed it about two months ago when I upgraded to a new  phone . I couldn’t understand why it didn't recognize the network. Same with my iPad. Hopefully they’ll come out with a patch or an update for it soon?

Thank tho

This shows apps that have asked.  But you can click on the app and check its permissions (i.e. don't list those apps that have Local Network, get a list of the permissions that the app could have).  Then maybe you'll see Local Network disabled on the app, and be able to add it.

I’m pretty familiar with the app and I’ve never come across that function. I’ll look again though.

thnx
