set top box and account not matching

I have an extra set top box iI am placing in a guest room and am receiving the message "set top box does not match account settings"

where did you get the box? Does it work in any ofthe other rooms?

Did you attempt to activate the box before the date and time that was originally shipped with it?  If you attempt to activate a box before the random date/time they tell you it messes up the box and the only way to fix it, is to call customer support and have them unlock the box and manually reenter the serial numbers.  Also same thing if somehow the wrong serial number is inputted into the system before they ship it to you.  Call customer support, talk for many hours pray they fix it
